Sophie’s Flats is a design and build company based in Ontario, Canada. We specialize in accessory dwelling units called ADUs, which are fully independent homes built in residential backyards. Every project is handled from design to permitting to construction with a strong focus on craftsmanship, sustainability, and service.
We are seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our field team and contribute to the construction of backyard homes across southern Ontario. You will be responsible for
Framing, sheathing, and general wood construction
Installing doors, windows, siding, and exterior finishes
Performing interior finishing such as trim, cabinetry, and flooring
Interpreting blueprints and construction documents
Working alongside site supervisors and subcontractors
Maintaining site cleanliness and ensuring work meets safety and quality standards
This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in building high quality structures and enjoys working on diverse residential projects.
We are looking for candidates who
Have 3 or more years of carpentry experience in residential construction
Are confident working with framing, finishing, and general tools
Can read construction drawings and work with limited supervision
Understand job site safety procedures and provincial building codes
Are reliable, punctual, and work well in a team
Have a valid driver’s license and access to transportation
